For all the dangerous activity going on, most construction sites are safe places to work. That is because of the countless safety inspections, routines, and reviews that go on. From the moment a worker steps onto the site to the moment they leave, every step is taken with safety in mind. When an accident happens at a construction site, it’s usually the result of many failures happening at once. This may have been the case in a recent scaffolding collapse in Hackensack.
As reported by CBS 2, the construction accident took place at the Tracy Place apartment complex. Six workers were 45 feet above the ground on scaffolding when they fell. The collapse resulted in two of the workers being critically injured. All were taken to Hackensack University Medical Center.
The Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA), along with the Sheriff’s office, have opened an investigation into what happened.
