Attorney David Silverstein Crosses Finish Line of New Jersey State Triathlon

Last Saturday, July 20^th, the temperature hit 95 degrees Fahrenheit by midday. In other words, it was the perfect time to complete a “super-fast” triathlon, right?

In retrospect, maybe the heat was best suited to the swimming portion of the New Jersey State® Triathlon, but David Silverstein, partner at Lependorf & Silverstein, P.C., had already committed to swimming, biking, and running the race. Tickets sell out well in advance every year for this event, and he had no intention of turning back.

Mr. Silverstein competed in the Sprint Distance: 500 meters of freestyle in Mercer Lake, followed by 11.5 miles of biking through West Windsor Township, finished off with a 2-mile dash to the finish line. (The running portion of the triathlon was dropped from 3.1 miles to 2 miles due to the excessive heat.) His family, both immediate and law firm, urged him on and supplied him with water bottles on the course.

Though he is an experienced adventure racer and mountaineer, David found this year’s New Jersey State® Triathlon quite challenging. He joked, “I barely made it—I’m getting too old for this kind of thing!” Luckily, the physical wear and tear doesn’t affect his legal practice, where the same attention to planning, grueling practice sessions, and precision play out every weekday (and sometimes on weekends). As our law firm says, “Navigation skills usually make the difference between success and failure…in more than one arena.”

Great job completing this latest obstacle, Dave! We knew you could do it. We look forward to the next ridiculously hard event you sign yourself up for, and we’ll be cheering from the sidelines the whole way.
