Helping Victims of Nerve Damage Injuries

Nerve damage can cause some of the worst pain an injury victim can suffer. The severity and pervasiveness of chronic nerve pain can lead to a host of other mental and emotional maladies, like depression and an overall loss of joy of life. Such states of mind can cause social and relationship problems, as well as damage one’s professional life and career. Nerve damage can also inhibit organs and limbs from functioning properly – which, of course, can affect a person’s overall outlook on life.

If you have suffered nerve damage from an accident, a botched medical procedure, or as a side effect of a prescribed medication, you may be entitled to compensation from the liable parties. But, because nerve injuries and their affects can be hard to physically substantiate, proving their existence and establishing their severity can be challenging. In order to get a settlement worthy of your suffering, it is crucial that you seek the representation of an accomplished catastrophic injury attorney in NJ. The legal team at the Princeton office of Lependorf & Silverstein, P.C. has been successfully representing injury victims for over 25 years. Call us today, at (609) 240-0040 for a free case evaluation.

What are the Different Types of Nerves?

There are three types of nerves in the human body, and they each perform a specific and important function.

  • Autonomic nerves which control the voluntary and partially voluntary actions of the body. This includes heart rate, blood pressure, temperature regulation, digestion, etc.
  • Motor nerves which control voluntary movements by sending messages from the brain, through the spinal cord, and to the muscles.
  • Sensory nerves which relay information from the flesh, back to the brain through the spinal cord. Sensory nerves allow you to feel pain, temperature, etc.
